Sailboats

 

OPTIMISTS

The Sub Junior Class for those under 16. 

110 Optmist boats for those under 16 and weigh less than 45kgs. More than 80 percent of Olympic medallists learned to sail in the Optimist. India hosts 4 major Optimist Regattas at Hyderabad, Chennai, Bhopal, Pune and Bombay and one international in Chennai.

 

omegas

The Senior Class.

4 Omega class boats imported from the UK for adults. The Omega is a wonderful training vessel and is used for racing too. With two sails and a length of 4.7m, the boat can accommodate 4 crew.

 

Lasers

The Olympic class.

16 Laser class boats. These are Olympic class boats and are also sailed at the Asian games and the largest Nationals are sailed in the Laser class. Hyderabad hosts two Laser Championships - the Monsoon Regatta and the Hyderabad Sailing Week apart from the nationals in either Chennai and Mumbai and one International in Chennai.

Kayaks

The Yacht Club as 6 Sea-going Triyaks or three-person Kayaks that are sit-on-top and great for exploring the lake. Kayaking is aeasy to learn and great for building endurance and staying fit especially for all-round upper body strength and endurance. The Triyaks can be easily paddled by one, two or three paddlers and is great for a family spin on the lake.

 

Safety Boats

Safety is a prime concern at the Yacht Club and we are equipped with 9 motorised vessels including 7 Rigid inflatable boats fully powered by 4-stroke engines.

Safety jackets are amongst the best in the world and well engineered with a crotch strap that keeps it snug to your body.


Launching FACILITY

We boast of the largest Floating Pontoon facility in the state and one of the largest in the country for safe launching and landing and retrieval of sailing craft with a 100 meter jetty ideal for training.
